best man guide

 demon wheelers best man guide

So its time to start getting organised. Not only do you have to organise the stag party, look after the rings and ensure that the groom is there on time, but you also have to prepare a speech for the wedding.

This best man guide should help you prepare. If you work around the following key prompts you can't go far wrong. Running a stag party and being best man takes plenty of organisation, coordination and commitment, so make sure that all the bases are covered. Have a look at this best mans checklist and you'll see what kind of things you need to be thinking about, before the big weekend, during the big weekend and after the big weekend.

Before the big weekend
You should allow adequate time to prepare, so allow at least a few weeks before the stag do although we would recommend a few months if you really want a night to remember, and again allow a few weeks after to give the groom a recovery period before the big day and possibly enough time to grow his eyebrows back.  You may also need to allow enough time for the bride to calm down after all your stag antics!
The next important step is to check with the Stag. Take the stag by the horns and find out if he has got any specific ideas on what he would and wouldn't like to do during his stag weekend? Check who he wants there and who he doesn't, what sort of location he thinks he might like and what types of events or activities he really fancies doing. Remember it's not just about you and the ushers, the stag party should be the most memorable for the groom to be.
Following this you need to consider how many people you are going to invite. We would recommend as many as possible however this can have an effect on the activities that you would like to participate in, if you are choosing specialized activities such as limousine hire, white water rafting and similar activities you may need to be more selective with numbers as they’re could be a lot of waiting around or limited numbers, the best activities for larger stag groups include paint balling and multi activity days where the groups can participate together or be broken down into smaller teams.
You should also consider the lads during this stage; does anyone have any special needs, health concerns or financial restraints that will limit them from doing any of the chosen stag party activities and have they got any specific ideas of activities that they would like to participate in. Also it is a good idea to ensure that the mixture of people will mix well together especially regarding hotel room allocation and the types of activities that you will choose.

The next step is to choose where you would like to go. There can be many reasons for choosing a stag weekend location with particular relevance to convenience and accessibility as it may prove difficult to get all the lads together in one place. A prime significance is budget; some places are more appropriate and economical than others.  The next important issue is the activities available, there could be something extra special that you want to do that is not available in the location that you were hoping, and last but not least style, some locations and venues are more relaxed than others and some are more deluxe it is completely dependant on your requirements.

If you’re unsure of where to go or you simply can't make up your mind, see our city guides for some assistance and recommendations.
The next step is choosing the right activities; you can browse through our website to get a better idea of the different activities that you can participate in; however you may already have some ideas so this is the prime opportunity to do a little research.
Alternatively you can check out our stag weekend packages and decide if there are some ready made packages to suite your requirements.
The big thing at the moment is to add a theme to your stag night or weekend. Themes can be an extremely good laugh, and one thing for sure is that they're guaranteed to draw maximum attention to your group. "OO7" nights are always a popular one or cowboys and Indians for example.
Finally you're going to be coordinating a lot of people. Getting the lads to commit might prove tricky, but getting advanced funds may prove even more testing. Ensure that the package cost is confirmed early on so that all the attendees can be informed and are given plenty of time to get themselves organised. Check frequently on the arrangements you've made amongst the stag party, mistakes can occur and changes may need to be made but it's important that everything is finalized without any major glitches.
Once you’ve chosen your location, the activities that you’re interested in and the people that you want to come along give us a call and we will be happy to organise the rest!

During the big Weekend
Of course you should have maximum stag party amusement but remember you're organising it, so you're the one in control, best not to get blindo in the first half an hour and leave the group to fend for themselves. Also you don't want to come off too heavy handed but do keep an eye on things and most of all make sure the stag is looked after, well to a certain extent.
It is often a good idea to try to set up some sort of kitty up within the group. This will reduce the chances of the group dispersing, ensuring that the entire group gets wasted together, which is ultimately what you have planned and can also avoid confusion as to who got the last round in etc.
Some groups may like to set rules and responsibilities regarding the different members to ensure that the whole weekend runs smoothly.  For example taking it in turn to watch the stag if he gets into a painful state of drunkenness.
It's a big night and with everything that'll be going on you're likely to forget a lot of the details. Preserve the stag memories by taking photos but be aware that some memorabilia may be embarrassing, hurtful or harmful. It's also your responsibility to make sure that "what goes on during the stag weekend stays on the stag weekend".
Possibly the most important aspect of the stag weekend is the stag night prank, what you need is something that will remain etched in your memories forever and that will be a major nuisance for the groom. In short, what you need come up with a state of affairs that are both hilarious and original and isn’t going to cause any mood swings.
Finally, make the most of the weekend and keep the good-humouredantics going but watch out for any alcohol-fuelled pointless fighting and unintelligent property damage leading to bar owners placing a 'no stag' policy on their establishments. This lack of self-control and disrespect only ends up with the usual arrests, fines and further stereotyping of the tradition of stag nights. In short please don’t behave in a derogatory way.

After the big weekend
Let's face it ... at the very least it's going to be a big night, so make sure of a number of things.
Have some headache tablets in great supply with you as others will also be in need. If due at the wheel, make sure you're safe to drive before you journey homeward. With all the stag party enjoyment you'll have, there's no point in having a bad ending.

Finally keep her sweet, if the missus is waiting at home for you, remember that she has been class enough to allow you some wicked stag party action away. So to avoid the Spanish inquisition on your return and to ensure some Sunday night peace and quiet tell her that you have missed her and maybe even bring her a gift back with you.

We are aware that there's so much to think about but by booking through a specialist company like us, you’ll be receiving a fantastic weekend without much of the hassle and responsibility. Whatever your choices; you can rest assured that the event organisers at Demon Wheelers are totally focused on your weekend, from the initial contact right through to the weekend its self!
